Parliament hosts Doa and Milad Mahfil seeking eternal peace for late speaker Barrister Jamiruddin

A solemn Doa and Milad Mahfil was organized at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban Mosque on Tuesday seeking the eternal peace and salvation of the departed soul of former acting president and speaker Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar.

The religious remembrance ceremony was hosted by the Parliament Secretariat following the Tuesday Zuhr prayers. Acting Speaker of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kaisar Kamal, MP, personally attended the event alongside parliament staff and devout attendees.

The solemn event commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. Attendees joined in special supplications, recalling the significant public service and parliamentary contributions of the veteran legal practitioner and political figure during his long career.

In the extended prayer, special supplications were offered seeking divine blessings for the late Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar. Prayers were also recited for the salvation of Proclaimer of Independence Shahid President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, valiant freedom fighters, and individuals who sacrificed their lives during various democratic movements.

Special prayers were conveyed for the continued peace, progress, and overall welfare of the nation. Attendees offered prayers for the health and longevity of the Honorable President, the Prime Minister, the Acting Speaker, Cabinet members, Whips, and Members of Parliament.

The gathering concluded with prayers for the smooth execution of parliament operations and the unity, peace, and prosperity of the global Muslim community. Senior officials including the Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat were present during the memorial prayers.
