A young businessman named Rahul Yadav (32) committed suicide in Bogura, reportedly driven by emotional distress after his wife left him to marry her lover. Rahul passed away on Thursday night (May 14, 2026) while undergoing treatment at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMC) Hospital. He was a prominent pulses importer and the only son of Niranjan Goala from the Namajgarh Dalpatti area of Bogura city.
According to local sources, Rahul’s wife had been involved in an extramarital affair for some time. A few months ago, she left behind their eight-year-old daughter to marry another man. This incident left Rahul severely traumatized and mentally unstable. On Thursday morning, he posted a final status on his Facebook profile, hinting at his intention to end his life.
Following the social media post, Rahul consumed toxic tablets at his residence around 2:00 PM. Family members rushed him to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed at approximately 1:00 AM. His sudden death has cast a shadow of grief over his family and the local business community, highlighting the tragic consequences of domestic breakdown and mental health struggles.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdullah Al Sadiq of Bogura Sadar Police Station confirmed that the body was handed over to the family without an autopsy upon their formal request. “Since there were no complaints from the family, we facilitated the handover. An unnatural death case has been registered at the station,” the official stated. The businessman’s demise serves as a somber reminder of the need for psychological support during times of personal crisis.
