The Russian House in Dhaka held an orientation and passport handover ceremony for Bangladeshi recipients of the Russian Government Scholarship, marking the final stage of preparation for their higher studies in Russia. Successful candidates received their stamped passports and visas during the event, signaling the start of their academic journey.
The briefing gathered departure-ready students, alumni of Russian universities, and seasoned professionals who earned their degrees in Russia. Additionally, several current Bangladeshi students enrolled across Russian institutions joined virtually from Russia to share practical advice and navigating tips with the fresh intake.
Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, Ms. Alexandra A. Khlevnoy, opened the proceedings with a welcome address. Prominent guests included Professor Dr. Md. Nasim Akhtar, Executive Committee Member of the Soviet Alumni Association, Bangladesh (SAAB), and Ar. Tania Atiq, General Secretary of SAAB’s 14th Executive Committee.
Other distinguished speakers were Dr. Barek Kaiser, Assistant Professor at the University of Development Alternative and alumnus of RUDN University; Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon at Moscow’s N. N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology; and Erada Tud Diniat, a 2026 RUDN University graduate and Russian Nuclear Education Ambassador.
Speakers shared personal accounts of living, studying, and building careers in Russia. They provided actionable insights on adjusting to a new social environment, leveraging university resources, and building international career pathways.
The interactive online session with current students studying in Russia proved particularly useful. They answered questions regarding pre-departure packing, dormitory living, campus communications, and maximizing opportunities available to international students. The Russian House in Dhaka concluded the session by wishing all scholarship recipients a productive academic stay in Russia.
