The Ministry of Education’s Secondary and Higher Education Division has issued the policy framework for Class 11 admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. Admissions will rely strictly on SSC and equivalent exam results, bypassing any entry test. Online applications open on September 2 and close at 8:00 PM on September 10, with classes scheduled to begin on September 23.
Under the policy, 93 percent of seats across institutions remain open to all applicants based strictly on merit. The remaining 7 percent allocation goes to quotas: 5 percent for children of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters, and 2 percent for children of employees under the Ministry of Education and its subsidiary offices. If eligible candidates are unavailable for the freedom fighter quota, those seats will be filled from the general merit list rather than kept vacant. This quota structure applies exclusively to the 2026-27 session.
The policy outlines explicit tie-breaking criteria for applicants with identical GPAs. Merit positions will first be determined by total marks earned. For Science stream applicants with tied total scores, evaluation will prioritize marks in General Math, followed by Higher Math or Biology. Should ties persist, scores in English, Physics, and Chemistry will break the deadlock. For Humanities and Business Studies, marks in English, Math, and Bangla will be evaluated sequentially.
Application and institution fees have been capped. The initial online application fee is set at BDT 220, alongside an initial board confirmation fee of BDT 340. For MPO-affiliated colleges, combined session and admission fees are capped at BDT 5,000 in Dhaka Metropolitan, BDT 3,000 in other metropolitan areas, BDT 2,000 at district levels, and BDT 1,500 in sub-districts. Non-MPO institutions in Dhaka may charge up to BDT 7,500 for Bangla medium and BDT 8,500 for English medium.
Students whose results change following re-scrutiny can submit applications from September 12 to September 13. Applicants can also modify their college choices during this window. Selection results will be announced at 8:00 PM on September 17, and students must confirm their placement by 8:00 PM on September 19 to avoid cancellation. Final college enrollment will run from September 20 to September 22.
Institutions cannot admit students beyond their approved quota or hold back original transcripts under any circumstances. Furthermore, colleges are instructed to waive fees for students with special needs wherever feasible.
