A mobile court has sentenced two youths to seven days of simple imprisonment for filming videos on their mobile phones inside a polling center in Rajshahi city.
The incident occurred around 10:45 AM on Thursday at the Shiroil Colony High School polling station during the ongoing 13th National Parliamentary Election.
The convicted individuals, identified as Md. Imran Ali (26) and Md. Shahriar (25), are residents of the local Shiroil Colony area.
Monirul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandrima Police Station, confirmed that the duo was caught red-handed by on-duty security personnel while violating election guidelines. Following the arrest, the mobile court summarily tried them for breaching the secrecy of the ballot.
According to the OC, both individuals are supporters of the Jamaat-e-Islami party.
