The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Inter-Base Swimming and Water Polo Competition 2026 concluded on Thursday (August 13) with a colorful closing and award ceremony at the Naval Headquarters Swimming Complex in Banani, Dhaka.
BAF Base ‘Bir Uttam A K Khandker’ secured the championship title in the swimming competition by bagging 6 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze medals. BAF Base ‘Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman’ finished as the runner-up with 4 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
In the highly contested Water Polo final, BAF Base ‘Bir Uttam A K Khandker’ edged past BAF Base ‘Zahurul Haq’ with a 5-4 victory to seal a double championship sweep.
Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans), attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest, witnessed the final day’s events, and handed over prizes to the winners and runners-up. Senior military officials, including the Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bashar, were present alongside other ranks.
The 5-day tournament, featuring 7 teams from across the Bangladesh Air Force, was officially inaugurated on August 9 by the Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bashar, Air Vice Marshal Syed Sayeedur Rahman.
