Akij Resource earned double honors at the ESG Excellence Awards Bangladesh 2026, held on Saturday at a Dhaka hotel, recognizing its commitment to sustainable development, tech innovation, and responsible business practices.
Two subsidiaries of the group—Akij Essentials Limited and Akij Agro Feed Limited—received special recognition awards across two distinct categories.
UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh and ESG Institute Bangladesh jointly organized the award ceremony. The initiative aims to evaluate and acknowledge measurable progress made by Bangladesh-based enterprises in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) domains.
Akij Essentials Limited secured the award in the ‘ESG Technology and Digital Innovation Excellence’ category for developing localized, tech-driven ESG solutions and integrating digital systems into sustainable management.
Meanwhile, Akij Agro Feed Limited received recognition in the ‘Supply Chain Collaboration and Partnership Excellence’ category. The award highlights its ongoing efforts to build long-term, responsible partnerships with marginal farmers, smallholders, and local suppliers.
Commenting on the achievements, Md. Rahajul Amin, ESG and Sustainability Lead at Akij Resource, stated that the honors reflect both progress and heightened responsibility, reaffirming the company’s focus on creating long-term value through inclusive partnerships.
Top leadership attended the ceremony, including ATM Habib Ullah, CEO of Akij Agro Feed Limited; Akhtarul Alam Shah, COO of Akij Essentials Limited; Towfique Hassan, Chief Business Development Officer of Akij Resource; Md. Rahajul Amin, ESG Lead; and Senior Officer Md. Ibtahaj Ifrit.
