The Russian House in Dhaka has highlighted its activities in Bangladesh, with a particular focus on educational, cultural and professional exchange programmes at a half-yearly press briefing.
The briefing, held at the Russian House in Dhaka on on Tuesday (30 June 2026), was presided over by Alexandra Khlevnoy, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bangladesh and Director of the Russian House in Dhaka.
Speaking at the event, she praised Bangladeshi students studying in Russia on government scholarships, saying they have been earning awards and demonstrating their talents on the international stage.
She said the number of Russian government scholarships allocated to Bangladeshi students has increased significantly over the years, rising from 65 in 2018 to 200 at present.
Khlevnoy also showcased the achievements of Bangladeshi students and professionals in various fields in Russia, describing them as examples of the growing people-to-people ties between the two countries.
She highlighted opportunities available for Bangladeshi journalists through professional exchange programmes in Russia, adding that the Russian government continues to invest in developing talented Bangladeshis through education and training initiatives.
She also highlighted Russian youth programme and Sputnik programme for Journalists.
The Russian House director also spoke about Russia’s Arctic region, describing it as a unique destination that talented participants can explore through special programmes offered by the Russian government.
