A total of 57,526 Bangladeshi pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia through 148 flights as of Thursday morning (May 14, 2026). Director of the Bangladesh Hajj Office, Md. Lokman Hossain, confirmed that these flights landed at Jeddah and Medina airports, marking a significant milestone in this year’s Hajj operations.
According to the official Hajj bulletin, 14 pilgrims have tragically passed away due to natural causes since their arrival. Among the deceased, 10 are men and 4 are women, with 11 deaths occurring in Mecca and 3 in Medina. The Saudi Medical Team has been actively providing healthcare services, treating 28,669 pilgrims to date, while 16,430 individuals received assistance through IT help desks.
A breakdown of flight operations shows that Biman Bangladesh Airlines transported 28,834 pilgrims via 73 flights. Saudi Airlines carried 20,236 passengers on 53 flights, and Flynas transported 8,456 pilgrims on 22 flights. Around 20,852 registered pilgrims are yet to reach the holy land and are scheduled to arrive in the coming days.
This year, a total of 78,500 Bangladeshis have been authorized to perform Hajj under the management of 660 agencies. The operation was officially inaugurated on April 17 by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The Saudi Embassy has nearly completed the visa issuance process, and return flights are scheduled to commence on May 30.
