Suman, hailing from Abhirampur village under Mirzapur Upazila in Tangail, had been running a business in South Africa for several years. He last visited Bangladesh three years ago to get married and is survived by a two-year-old son. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirzapur Police Station, Abdullah Al Mamun, confirmed that police visited the deceased’s home after being notified of the tragedy. “We are in constant contact with the family and will provide all necessary administrative support to repatriate Suman’s body as quickly as possible,” stated the OC. Local authorities are also coordinating to understand the legal proceedings in South Africa regarding the investigation.
