Rubaba Dowla, Chairman of the BCB Women’s Wing, has confirmed that the inaugural Women’s BPL will be open to international cricketers from all nations, including India. Speaking to the media, she clarified that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not imposed any specific restrictions and franchises are free to sign overseas stars through direct negotiations. The three-team tournament is scheduled to take place from April 4 to 14, 2026, across venues in Dhaka and Chittagong.
While Indian female cricketers like Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur are permitted by the BCCI to play in foreign leagues, their arrival in Bangladesh remains uncertain due to recent diplomatic and security concerns between the two boards.
“We are open to everyone; let’s see how it unfolds,” Rubaba added. The players’ draft is set for March 14, where three local icons will lead the franchises. The top-tier domestic players are expected to earn up to 1 million BDT. This tournament marks a historic leap for women’s cricket in Bangladesh, aiming to integrate global talent into the local structure.
