Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus cast his vote for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the Referendum on the ‘July National Charter’ today at the Gulshan Model School and College center.

Emerging from the polling booth with his daughter, Dina Yunus, the Nobel Laureate described the occasion as the “most joyful day” of his life and a symbolic rebirth of the nation.

“Today is the birthday of a New Bangladesh. Through this process, we have officially rejected the nightmares of the past,” Professor Yunus told reporters at 10:25 AM.

He emphasized that while electing representatives is vital, the referendum on the National Charter is the true catalyst that will transform the country’s landscape. He urged every citizen to participate in this festive “rebirth” to ensure a transparent and reformed state structure.

The atmosphere at the center turned festive as the Chief Adviser greeted the nation with “Eid Mubarak,” equating the democratic milestone to a national festival. Voting began at 7:30 AM across 299 constituencies and is scheduled to continue until 4:30 PM. His participation is seen as a historic endorsement of the interim government’s reform agenda and the spirit of the July uprising.
