Chief of naval staff Admiral Khondokar Misbah ul Azim departs for Saudi Arabia on official visit

Bangladesh Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Khondokar Misbah ul Azim departed Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on Saturday, September 5, 2026, on an official visit aimed at enhancing bilateral defense cooperation and maritime security ties.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the Navy Chief’s departure in an official press release issued on Saturday.

During his visit, Admiral Azim is scheduled to hold courtesy meetings with top military leadership, including the Chief of General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, the Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, and the Commander of the Multinational Maritime Defense Coalition.

High-level discussions will center on mutual strategic interests, defense training programs, and strengthening professional maritime collaboration between the two nations.

As part of the official itinerary, the Navy Chief will inspect key military installations and naval bases across the Kingdom. He will also engage in high-level exchanges regarding professional training modules, operational strategies, and naval technology sharing.

“This high-level visit is expected to significantly solidify mutual cooperation, professional training, and the longstanding fraternal ties between the naval forces of both nations,” stated ISPR Assistant Director Mohammad Reza-Ul-Karim Shammi.
