The Bangladesh Embassy in Germany, in partnership with the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK), organized a daylong business seminar aimed at boosting bilateral trade and attracting foreign direct investment.
Titled “Business Meets Diplomacy: Current Business and Investment Opportunities in Bangladesh,” the high-level event took place in Düsseldorf, the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, drawing participation from over 20 prominent German companies and trade organizations.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Germany Mohammad Zulqar Nain delivered the keynote address via an extensive multimedia presentation. He outlined the country’s macroeconomic trajectory, evolving trade dynamics, and strategic advantages for European investors.
The presentation highlighted several high-growth sectors, including light engineering, semiconductor packaging, electric vehicle (EV) batteries, solar panel manufacturing, and data center infrastructure. Ambassador Nain emphasized how Bangladesh is rapidly positioning itself as a reliable industrial hub for high-tech manufacturing.
Addressing German business leaders, the Ambassador detailed the policy reforms and competitive incentive packages offered under the current government’s leadership. The presentation underscored the administration’s business-friendly stance, political stability, and structured regulatory support designed to safeguard foreign capital.
Senior representatives from German federal bodies and industry associations attended the symposium, including officials from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI), and the East Asian Association (OAV). Executive leaders from consulting firm ALTIOS, industrial manufacturer WILO, garment investor OSPIG, and regional banking group Sparkassen also voiced strong enthusiasm for deepening economic ties with Bangladesh.
