Bringing authentic Chinese gastronomy and vibrant cultural heritage to the heart of the capital, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport has launched a week-long festival titled ‘Imperial Flavors of China’. Running from August 13 to August 19, 2026, the food extravaganza is taking place at Mosaic, the signature dining restaurant of the IHG Hotels & Resorts property.

Curated meticulously by the hotel’s expert culinary team, the dinner buffet presents a rich tapestry of traditional Chinese delicacies, pan-Asian specialties, and signature desserts. Food enthusiasts can savor century-old traditional recipes alongside contemporary culinary inventions.

The traditional Chinese spread highlights favorites such as Ma Lai Go (steamed sponge cake) and crispy Jian Dui (sesame balls). Dessert connoisseurs can indulge in classic Chinese egg tarts, traditional mooncakes, Ba Bao Fan (Eight-Treasure Rice Pudding), almond jelly with lychee, and golden Chinese banana fritters.

Expanding the palate across Asia, the menu incorporates global favorites like Thailand’s famous Khao Neeo Mamuang (sweet coconut sticky rice with mango). Additional sweet offerings feature coconut tapioca pudding with mango and pomelo, alongside a aromatic five-spice chocolate chiffon cake. A dedicated counter displaying seven varieties of local Bangladeshi sweets completes the dining spread.

Beyond the culinary journey, the festival offers immersive cultural entertainment throughout the week. Guests can witness dynamic live performances, including traditional Chinese dragon dances and heritage cultural showcases designed to bring the festive spirit of China to life.

Sun Xin, Station Manager of Air China, officially inaugurated the festival in the presence of hotel executives, diplomatic guests, and corporate partners. The inauguration highlighted growing cross-cultural and commercial ties between Bangladesh and China.

Ashwani Nayar, Area General Manager for IHG Southwest Asia and Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka, shared his enthusiasm regarding the event. He emphasized that the festival represents a complete cultural celebration rather than a standard dinner buffet.

“Imperial Flavors of China is a tribute to Chinese culinary heritage,” remarked Ashwani Nayar. “We carefully brought together authentic recipes and vibrant cultural performances to create a memorable experience for our patrons. Welcoming the Air China leadership to inaugurate this feast is a true honor.”

Adding travel excitement to the event, US-Bangla Airlines has joined as the official airline partner. One lucky dinner guest will win a complimentary round-trip air ticket from Dhaka to Guangzhou.

NCC Bank serves as the official banking partner. Additionally, cardholders from NCC Bank, BRAC Bank, Dhaka Bank, Midland Bank, and other participating financial institutions can avail of an exclusive ‘Dine 4, Pay 1’ promotional offer, subject to terms and conditions.

Situated conveniently near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Kurmitola, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport continues to set benchmarks in hospitality. Reservations for the Imperial Flavors of China buffet can be made directly via hotel hotline numbers +88 09638-388888, +880 1887-333555, or +880 1886-441155.
