Ashwani Nayar wins ‘Asia’s Most Eminent General Manager Award’

Ashwani Nayar, Area General Manager for IHG South West Asia and Cluster General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka Airport, has received the “Asia’s Most Eminent General Manager Award” at the 17th Edition of the World Hospitality Leadership Awards.

CMO Asia and the World Forum of Hospitality presented the honor at a ceremony held at Pan Pacific Singapore on August 3, 2026.

The award recognizes Nayar’s leadership, operational excellence, and commercial achievements across the regional hospitality landscape. Under his management, both Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka Airport have strengthened their positions as premier business and leisure destinations near Dhaka’s international transit hub.

Reacting to the honor, Nayar credited his team, noting that hospitality fundamentally relies on building genuine human connections and delivering guest satisfaction. He praised the dedication of staff members across both properties in achieving this milestone.

Addressing an audience of global business executives—including leaders from Standard Chartered Bank, Oracle, Lions International, Deloitte, and Citibank—Nayar shared his vision for Bangladesh’s evolving hospitality sector. He emphasized how integrated infrastructure projects around the airport area are elevating visitor experiences and driving economic growth.

Nayar explained that the integrated retail, commercial, convention, and hospitality complex at Dhaka airport serves as a modern gateway to the nation, setting higher service benchmarks for the hospitality industry in Bangladesh.
