Gold price reduced by almost Tk2000

The price of gold has been reduced slightly in the country’s market. The price of the best quality or 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) has been reduced by 1 thousand 925 taka. With this, the price of one bhori of gold has stood at 2 lakh 57 thousand 774 taka.

This price has been reduced in view of the decrease in the price of pure gold in the local market. The new price will be effective from Monday (February 2) according to the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS).

The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee decided to reduce this price in a meeting held on Sunday (February 1). Later, this information was given in a notification signed by the committee chairman Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen.

The notification said that now the price of one bhori of 21-carat gold has been reduced by Tk1, 866, so price stand at 2 lakh 46 thousand 52 taka.

In addition, the price of one 18-carat gold has been reduced by Tk1,633 to a new price of Tk2,10,885. The price of one bhori 22-carat gold has been reduced by 1,341 taka to a new price of 1,72,569 taka.

Although the price of gold has been reduced, the price of silver remains unchanged.

The price of a 22-carat bhori of silver has been set at Tk7,290. In addition, the price of a 21-carat bhori of silver has been set at 6,940 taka, the price of an 18-carat bhori of silver has been set at 5,949 taka, and the price of a traditional bhori of silver has been set at 4,432 taka.
