Iran launched a heavy ballistic missile barrage targeting the Israeli cities of Arad, Dimona, and Tel Aviv on Saturday night, leaving approximately 200 people injured. The Israeli Ministry of Health reported that several victims are in critical condition as rescue teams navigate the rubble of destroyed residential buildings. In a separate escalation along the northern border, a manager of a local farm was killed by an anti-tank missile fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon.
The strategic city of Dimona, located just 13 kilometers from Israel’s nuclear facility, bore the brunt of the attack. Tehran claimed the strike was a direct retaliation for a previous Israeli operation against Iran’s Natanz nuclear plant. Israeli military officials admitted that despite activating their air defense systems, they failed to intercept two ballistic missiles carrying heavy warheads. These projectiles scored direct hits in Dimona and Arad, turning residential blocks into mounds of twisted metal and concrete.
In Tel Aviv, falling missile debris on the Ayalon Highway and in Ramat Gan injured over ten people, while a building in Petah Tikva sustained significant structural damage. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the evening as “extremely difficult” for the nation. Since the start of the direct confrontation with Iran, Israel has recorded 16 fatalities and over 4,200 injuries, highlighting the severe humanitarian toll of this rapidly expanding regional war.
