At least 11 people died and over 50 suffered injuries after United States military forces launched targeted missile strikes across two Iranian provinces, Iranian state media reported on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

The overnight operations hit targets in the southwestern Khuzestan province and the southern Sirik County, causing civilian casualties and triggering heightened security alerts across the region.

State news agency IRNA cited Khuzestan’s deputy governor for security and law enforcement, who confirmed that US missiles struck three distinct locations within the province. The strikes in Khuzestan resulted in seven fatalities and left eight individuals injured.

Separately, Iranian Red Crescent Society personnel reported a devastating strike in Sirik County, where a missile slammed into a wedding celebration. The sudden explosion turned the festive occasion into a scene of panic and destruction.

The Sirik attack claimed four lives, including a child. Over 50 guests attending the event sustained injuries, with several critical cases rushed to neighboring medical facilities for urgent treatment.

Rescue teams navigated damaged infrastructure to evacuate casualties throughout the night. The military escalation has intensified regional instability, raising serious concerns over civilian safety during ongoing geopolitical conflicts.
