The National Citizen’s Party (NCP) has demanded the reinstatement and financial compensation for Mozaffar Ahmed Jubayer, a mosque Imam and teacher who was allegedly framed in a fabricated rape case in Feni. During a press conference held at the Feni Reporters’ Unity on Saturday (May 9, 2026), party leaders called for exemplary punishment for those behind the conspiracy that led to the Imam’s wrongful imprisonment.
NCP Central Joint Member Secretary, Tareq Reza, highlighted the irreversible social and financial damage suffered by the Imam. “Imam Mozaffar was victimized by a deep-seated conspiracy at a time when no one stood by him. We strongly demand the restoration of his job and state-sponsored financial compensation for the injustice he faced,” Reza stated. He also assured that the party would take responsibility for repaying the victim’s debts and ensuring his rehabilitation.
The party leaders argued that the Imam was targeted due to a bias against religious scholars. Jahidul Islam Saikat, NCP’s Feni District Convener, expressed the party’s commitment to standing by the victim until his dignity is fully restored. “While the psychological trauma cannot be entirely compensated, we will ensure he is rehabilitated with honor in society,” Saikat added.
The victimized Imam, Mozaffar Ahmed Jubayer, also shared his harrowing experience during the press conference, narrating the toll the false allegations took on his life. Leaders from various wings of the NCP were present to show solidarity, emphasizing that such judicial harassment must be prevented to protect the rights of innocent citizens and religious figures.
