In a devastating road accident, two teenagers were killed and another was critically injured after a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle in Saturia Upazila of Manikganj. The incident occurred near the Billpara Bridge in North Partilli on Friday (May 8, 2026), at approximately 11:30 AM. The deceased have been identified as Alam (16) and Kalu Mia (16), both residents of Tillir Char village.
According to police and local witnesses, a concrete-laden truck was heading toward Manikganj from the Dorgram area. Simultaneously, three individuals on a motorcycle were traveling in the opposite direction. The collision took place when the motorcycle reached the eastern side of the Billpara Bridge. The impact was so severe that the motorcyclists were thrown onto the road, with two of them falling directly under the wheels of the heavy vehicle.
The victim named Alam died on the spot due to severe crushing injuries. The other two, Kalu Mia and Sona Mia (22), were rescued by locals and rushed to Manikganj Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, Kalu Mia succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. The driver of the motorcycle, Sona Mia, remains hospitalized with multiple injuries.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Saturia Police Station, Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, confirmed that the police have secured the accident site and taken both vehicles into custody. “We have sent the bodies to the morgue for autopsy and started the legal process to determine the cause of the crash,” the OC stated.
