Trump issues 48-hour ultimatum to Iran: Open Hormuz or face power plant destruction

Date:

TBM Report

U.S. President Donald Trump has escalated regional tensions to a boiling point by issuing a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran. Trump warned that the United States would initiate massive strikes on Iranian power plants—starting with the largest facility—unless the Strait of Hormuz is fully reopened for safe passage without threats. “If Iran does not open the strait, the U.S. will annihilate their power infrastructure,” Trump posted on social media on Saturday (March 22), signaling a potential total blackout for the Islamic Republic.

The military landscape of the conflict underwent a seismic shift as Iran reportedly launched ballistic missiles with a range of 4,000 kilometers for the first time. Israeli Military Chief Eyal Zamir confirmed that these missiles targeted the strategic U.S. military base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. Zamir warned that these advanced projectiles possess the capability to reach major European cities, fundamentally altering the security equilibrium of the continent and the Middle East.

On the ground, the humanitarian toll continues to mount as casualties skyrocket. Since the onset of hostilities, over 2,000 Iranians have been killed, while Iranian strikes have claimed at least 15 lives in Israel. Saturday night saw a barrage of Iranian missiles striking the Israeli cities of Dimona and Arad, leaving scores injured and causing significant structural damage. The escalation has turned residential areas into frontlines, drawing widespread international concern.

Responding to the intensifying aerial campaign, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remained defiant. “We will not cease our operations; our forces will continue to strike enemies across every front,” Netanyahu stated, reinforcing Israel’s commitment to a full-scale offensive. As the 48-hour deadline looms, the world watches with bated breath, fearing that a failure in diplomacy will trigger a catastrophic regional war with global economic repercussions.
