Banned Awami League outfit stages flash march in Tangail

Date:

TBM Report

Defying structural domestic bans, cadres associated with the legally proscribed political outfit, the Awami League, alongside its auxiliary wings Jubo League and Chhatra League, staged a swift flash demonstration in Tangail district headquarters on Sunday morning. According to localized intelligence and eyewitness accounts, the unexpected procession materialized at approximately 9:30 AM, originating from the Post Office junction on the central Victoria Road before terminating abruptly at the Borokallibari intersection. The sudden structural mobilization by the banned entity has triggered a high-velocity security alert across municipal limits.

Field operatives reported that the flash marchers utilized high-velocity evasion tactics, converging seamlessly on the thoroughfare to chant politically volatile slogans, including “Sheikh Hasina ashbe, Bangladesh hashbe” (Sheikh Hasina will return, Bangladesh will smile). Given the ongoing geopolitical transit and the statutory ban imposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the group, the participants intentionally limited the operational duration of the assembly, fully dispersing into nearby sub-lanes within minutes to avoid physical containment by rapid-response tactical units.

Confirming the administrative response, Ruhul Amin, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tangail Sadar Police Station, stated that security cordons were deployed immediately upon receiving intelligence protocols regarding the unauthorized assembly. “A dedicated operational unit dispatched from the Sadar command post inspected the intersection within minutes of the alert telemetry, but the agitators had already evacuated the perimeter,” OC Amin verified, noting that static deployment matrixes have been amplified at critical urban intersections to prevent secondary disruptions.

Tangail district police commands have initiated a comprehensive digital investigation, collecting closed-circuit television (CCTV) records from commercial buildings lining Victoria Road to construct definitive biometric profiles of the participants. The police chief asserted that case files under specialized internal security statutes are being prepared against the organizers. A multi-agency manhunt has been mobilized to track down and apprehend the proscribed political operatives for violating state orders and attempting to catalyze localized civil instability.
