TBM Report
A long-standing tribal and territorial dispute in Polash Upazila of Narsingdi devolved into kinetic violence, leaving one youth dead and two others fighting for their lives in critical care. The deceased has been identified as Ashik Bhuiyan (25), son of Monir Hossain Bhuiyan of Mazherchar village under Jinardi Union. Following the dissemination of the casualty reports early Saturday morning, an enraged mob of locals bypassed administrative channels to ransack and torch the residential compounds of the prime suspects.
Sovereign policing and intelligence vectors confirm that the structural friction originated between Ashik and the co-suspects—Sagar and Sohag, sons of Yunus Ali from the adjacent Parulia enclave. Following a physical altercation on Thursday, both factions conditionally accepted a localized customary arbitration (Salish) scheduled for Friday afternoon at the Parulia Bhuiyan estate. However, as the localized arbiters were being convened, a pre-arranged tactical unit of 10 to 15 personnel armed with local sharp-edged weapons ambushed the targeted victims.
Ashik sustained multiple penetrating trauma wounds during the chaotic broad-daylight offensive. His companions, Ruhul Amin and Mo. Iliyas, were systematically incapacitated with severe lacerations while attempting to execute a bystander extraction of the primary target. Local emergency medical response units rapidly evacuated the three casualties to the 100-bed Narsingdi District Hospital. Due to hemodynamically unstable profiles, the triage officers authorized an emergency transfer to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where Ashik succumbed to his visceral injuries during the pre-dawn hours of Saturday.
The confirmation of the fatality triggered massive civil unrest, culminating in retaliatory arson attacks against the suspects’ infrastructure. First responders from the Polash Fire Service and Civil Defence successfully contained the perimeter fires, preventing a broader systemic conflagration. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Polash Police Station, Shahed Al Mamun, confirmed that the homicide was an absolute execution of vendetta politics. “An institutional investigation is currently underway under the Penal Code, and dynamic tactical sweeps are being deployed to apprehend the fugitive suspects,” the administrative chief noted.
