A minority youth named Gautam Roy (34) has alleged that he was abducted, falsely accused of theft, and brutally tortured to sign legal documents in Char Fasson, Bhola. During a press conference held on Friday morning, Gautam claimed that local influential Ayub Khan and his associates kidnapped him on Wednesday night to forcibly occupy his ancestral land.
According to Gautam, the attackers tied him to a pillar and tortured him after he refused to sign over his property. His family members were also reportedly forced to sign blank papers at gunpoint to secure his release. While the accused Ayub Khan has dismissed the allegations as baseless, the South Aicha Police Station confirmed that they are awaiting a formal written complaint to initiate legal proceedings. The victim’s family is currently living in extreme fear of further retaliation.
