Dr. Md. Ershad Hussain Rana, Chairman & CEO of Dawn Group, has been elected as the President of the France Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB) for a two-year tenure spanning 2026–2028. The election results and leadership transition were finalized to steer the chamber’s ongoing efforts toward augmenting trade and investment collaboration between Bangladesh and France. The formal handover of responsibilities took place during the Board Transition Ceremony following the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Dhaka.
Joining the executive committee alongside the newly elected president, M. A. Reaz, director (Business Development) of Expo Holdings (BD) Ltd., and Md. Jahangir Alam Sharker, Managing Director & CEO of 3i Logistics (Pvt.) Ltd., have assumed their roles as Vice Presidents. Farzana Chowdhury, representing Abista FS Ltd., was elected as the Treasurer for the corresponding term. Together with the core office bearers, the newly formed board aims to introduce strategic economic initiatives.
The newly constituted 17-member Board features 13 prominent corporate leaders as Directors representing diverse industry sectors. The newly inducted Board of Directors includes Syed Sadat Ahmed (ABN Group), Dató K. M. Rifatuzzaman (Akhtar Group), Badria Anis (Bangladesh Exports Ltd.), Ahmed Saifuddin Chowdhury (BGIC Ltd.), Arif Rahman (Bengal Airlift Ltd.), Brig. Gen. Sharif Aziz, PSC (Retd.) (Elite Security Services Ltd.), Md. Asadul Islam (Fariha Knit Tex Ltd.), S. M. Rahman (Novo Cargo Services Ltd.), Mohammad Rashed (Pacific Design & Sourcing), S. A. Bahadur (Radiant Corporation), Salimul Haque Essa (Tasho Enterprises Ltd.), Mahmodul Islam Parvez (Uni-Global Business Ltd.), and Sana Sattar (Utah Knitting & Dyeing Ltd.).
The board transition ceremony concluded with an official networking luncheon, bringing together business community leaders, diplomats, and industry stakeholders. The newly installed leadership reaffirmed CCIFB’s commitment to expanding market access, fostering joint ventures, and promoting bilateral commercial ties between Bangladesh and France over the next two years.
