TBM Report
In a precision intelligence-led tactical operation, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-12) arrested four suspects and confiscated a foreign-made firearm along with a massive cache of ammunition and weapons components in the Ishwardi sub-district of Pabna. The pre-dawn raid, executed on Monday (July 6, 2026), neutralized a significant localized security threat by seizing multiple sharp combat weapons, telecommunication devices, and transport vehicles from the suspects’ custody.
A formal press communique issued by the Pabna Crime Prevention Company-2 (CPC-2) of RAB-12 confirmed the operational specifics to the media. Acting on credible undercover intelligence regarding illegal arms trafficking, a specialized tactical assault team encircled the Char Ruppur locality of Ishwardi and initiated the raid at approximately 4:15 AM on Monday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Supto Islam Jibon (26), Badhon Islam (23), and Shakil Hossain (30), all residents of the Char Ruppur area, alongside Chanchal Islam Nirob (26), a resident of Notun Ruppur Dakshinpara. Preliminary screening confirms that all four suspects are permanent inhabitants of the Ishwardi municipality area and were allegedly utilizing the locality as a safe house for illicit activities.
During the thorough search of the premises, elite anti-crime forces recovered one high-caliber foreign pistol, five rounds of live ammunition, and three operational firearm magazines. Furthermore, the operatives seized critical gun-manufacturing and assembly components, including five magazine slides and five gun barrels, suggesting potential involvement in weapon modification or localized arms trade.
In addition to the firearms, the raiding team confiscated a sizable arsenal of secondary weapons, comprising three sharp switchgear knives, one tactical hand-pressed blade, an electric shock weapon, and 100 rounds of specialized airgun cartridges. Law enforcement officials noted that the accumulation of such varied weaponry indicates organized criminal intent within the region.
To disrupt the suspects’ logistical and communication networks, RAB operatives also seized nine mobile phones, eleven SIM cards from various telecom operators, and two high-speed motorcycles found at the scene. Investigating officers believe the communication devices will provide critical digital forensics regarding their wider supply chain and potential accomplices.
Following the conclusion of preliminary field interrogations, RAB-12 transferred the four suspects, along with the entire inventory of seized weapons, ammunition, and vehicles, to the Ishwardi Police Station. Authorities have initiated formal criminal proceedings under the Arms Act, and police investigators are preparing to petition the court for remand to conduct further interrogations.
