TBM Report
Law enforcement operatives in Fenis Chhagalnaiya sub-district recovered the decapitated and severely mutilated body of a proscribed youth front leader from a local pond on Saturday morning (June 27, 2026). The deceased, identified as 35-year-old Jobayer Hossain, was the organizational secretary of the Ghopal Union Jubo League—an organization recently banned by state decree. According to preliminary forensic assessments, the body bore deep lacerations inflicted by sharp instruments. Hossain had been recently released from federal custody on bail before being targeted in this suspected retaliatory homicide.
Sovereign police records categorize Jobayer Hossain as a high-tier listed outlaw with a extensive criminal trajectory. Feni District Police confirmed that the deceased faced over 30 active criminal indictments, including explicit charges of homicide, armed assault, extortion, and systemic robbery. Following the historic August 5, 2024 mass uprising that unseated the Awami League administration, enraged local mobs reportedly set fire to Hossains paternal estate and plundered his commercial dairy cattle operations. Investigators strongly deduce that the homicide was directly triggered by deep-seated underworld disputes and historical animosities.
Local intelligence and community briefings indicate that a violent physical altercation occurred between Hossain and two local youths on Friday evening. Although neighboring residents temporarily de-escalated the immediate confrontation, the two suspects reportedly returned late at night, coaxing Hossain out of his residence under the pretext of a commercial meeting. He subsequently went missing, with his mobile device rendered unreachable. At dawn, rural residents discovered his blood-soaked remains floating inside a community pond near the Nizkunjara Samiti Bazar commercial hub and alerted the authorities.
Ghopal Police Investigation Center Inspector Ratan Debnath reported that the remains were transported to the Feni General Hospital morgue for a comprehensive post-mortem examination. Initial intelligence sweeps have verified the direct involvement of the two fleeing suspects, prompting coordinated tactical raids across the sub-district. Feni District Superintendent of Police (SP) Protyush Kumar Majumder validated that the victim’s father, Abu Taher, submitted a formal homicide complaint at noon, affirming that specialized police units are operating with absolute mobilization to apprehend the perpetrators.
