TBM Report
A major tactical confrontation erupted in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley as Hezbollah fighters intercepted an infiltration attempt by Israeli commandos. According to an official statement, Hezbollah units detected four Israeli military helicopters approaching from the Syrian border. The Israeli troops attempted to ground their forces near the Nabi Chit cemetery in the Baalbek district, triggering an immediate and fierce firefight with Hezbollah fighters on the ground.
The skirmish escalated rapidly once the Israeli positions were compromised. Hezbollah confirmed that the Israeli commandos launched intense air strikes to provide cover for an emergency evacuation as the firefight intensified. In retaliation, Hezbollah reported firing volleys of rockets at the retreating Israeli forces. Footage released by the group shows significant exchange of gunfire and artillery activity in the area.
This operation comes amidst a day of heavy bombardment in the Baalbek district. Lebanese authorities reported at least 13 separate Israeli air strikes on Friday targeting the Nabi Chit area. The Lebanese Ministry of Health has officially confirmed that at least nine people, including civilians, were killed in the attacks. The infiltration attempt signals a significant escalation in the conflict, as both sides move toward deeper, more specialized ground operations in eastern Lebanon.
