55th Jasne Juluse resonates in Chattogram with millions celebrating Eid-e-Miladunnabi

Port city Chattogram reverberated with sacred chants of “Ya Nabi Salam Alaika” as millions of devotees participated in the 55th Jasne Juluse on Wednesday (August 26) to mark Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi. Peer Allama Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah, the Sajjadansheen of Darbar-e-Srikot, Pakistan, led the grand colorful procession alongside guests Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah and Syed Muhammad Aqib Ahmed Shah.

The main procession commenced at 9:45 AM from the Sirikote Khankah adjacent to the Jameya Ahmadiya Sunnia Madrasa in Sholashahar. The rally navigated through Muradpur, 2 No. Gate, GEC, WASA, and Lalkhan Bazar before reaching Tigerpass, subsequently returning along the same route to conclude at the madrasa grounds. Roads, building roofs, and footpaths were packed with devotees eager to catch a glimpse of the spiritual leaders.

Organized by the Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadia Sunnia Trust, officials estimated a turnout exceeding 5 million people drawn from various parts of the country. Green flags, welcome arches, banners, and festive lighting decorated major intersections across Chattogram. Voluntary organizations set up booths offering free drinking water, sherbet, and dates to participants, while floating fairs stretched from Muradpur to the madrasa premises.

To maintain order, around 10,000 volunteers worked alongside police personnel. Traffic authorities temporarily closed the Lalkhan Bazar-Muradpur Flyover to keep the movement smooth. Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasan Mohammad Shawkat Ali emphasized that zero-tolerance security measures were deployed to ensure a peaceful gathering.
