Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani assassinated in Israeli air strike

Date:

TBM Report

Israel has confirmed the elimination of Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, and the head of the paramilitary Basij force, Gholamreza Soleimani, in a precision air strike conducted last night. Iranian authorities have since verified the deaths, marking a catastrophic blow to Tehran’s leadership structure following the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei late last month.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz hailed the operation as a major success in neutralizing the leadership of the so-called “Axis of Evil.” In a stern statement, Katz announced that Larijani had been “eliminated” along with other key figures responsible for Iran’s regional military strategy. Larijani was widely considered the primary architect of Iran’s national security policy and a pivotal figure in maintaining the country’s military influence across the Middle East.

The assassination comes amid a widening conflict that ignited on February 28 following a series of joint US-Israeli strikes. In retaliation, Iran has launched waves of missiles and drones targeting Israel and allied Arab states. The loss of Larijani is expected to further destabilize the region, as he was the most senior official remaining in the hierarchy after the fall of the Supreme Leader.

The economic fallout of the assassination was immediate, with global oil prices surging as Iranian forces disrupted production and blocked vital shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz. As the “shadow war” between Tehran and Tel Aviv transitions into a full-scale direct confrontation, the international community remains on high alert for Iran’s inevitable counter-response to this high-profile decapitation strike.
