West Bengal to introduce stringent anti-conversion laws

Date:

TBM Report

In a definitive legislative directive aimed at consolidating national security and preserving the cultural matrix of the state, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, announced that his administration will systematically implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) alongside rigorous anti-conversion laws targeting forced proselytization and “Love Jihad.” The executive declaration was articulated on Friday (June 26, 2026) at Rabindra Sadan during a state-sponsored gala commemorating the 150th anniversary of the historic patriotic anthem ‘Vande Mataram.’ The Chief Minister emphasized that these structural legal overhauls are imperative to defend the geopolitical integrity of West Bengal.

Chief Minister Adhikari leveled sharp criticisms against unchecked cross-border infiltration, asserting that the sovereign borders are experiencing artificial demographic shifts that present a direct threat to the domestic social structure and India’s comprehensive national security. Invoking the legacies of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, and Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, the Chief Minister reaffirmed that no anti-national maneuvers would be tolerated on the soil of Bengal. He urged the electorate for a strategic window of execution to legally institutionalize these foundational transformations.

Detailing the tactical measures enacted by his cabinet, the Chief Minister confirmed that the government of West Bengal has expedited land acquisitions to fortify border fencing and streamline security infrastructures for central border forces. Furthermore, specialized “holding centers” or detention facilities have been operationally instituted across border-adjacent districts to isolate and systematically repatriate illegal infiltrators to their sovereign nations. Adhikari maintained that while individuals undermining the indigenous culture through unlawful entry face dynamic repatriation protocols, those arriving via the parameters of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) occupy a distinct category.

The Chief Minister clarified that Hindus fleeing systematic religious persecution from neighboring countries are classified as legitimate refugees rather than infiltrators and will seamlessly receive Indian citizenship under the CAA umbrella. He stated his cabinet’s absolute allegiance to Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s foundational doctrine of “One Nation, One Law, One Prime, One Flag.” Paying profound homage to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Adhikari also condemned the previous Trinamool Congress administration, alleging they had historically locked the literary icon’s Kolkata residence to suppress nationalist memory—a systemic neglect his government has officially reversed through state-level restorations.
