Body of missing woman recovered from sugandha riverbank in Jhalokathi

The body of a 55-year-old woman, who had been missing for eight hours, was recovered from the banks of the Sugandha River on Tuesday morning. Local police recovered the remains of Nilufa Yasmin from a river ghat near the Kheyaghat area of Jhalokathi municipality. The mysterious death has sparked widespread concern in the locality.

Family members claim that the death is not accidental, as the victim’s gold ornaments were found missing from her ears and nose. They also expressed doubt over the body surfacing so quickly if she had drowned. Police have sent the body to Jhalokathi Sadar Hospital for an autopsy. OC (Investigation) Belayet Hossain stated that the exact cause of death will be determined post-mortem, and a detailed investigation is underway to unravel the mystery.
