‘No more orders from Washington’: Venezuela’s interim president rebukes US

In a defiant stance against foreign intervention, Venezuela’s Interim President Delcy Rodríguez has sent a stern message to the United States, asserting that the nation’s political future will be decided solely by its citizens. Speaking to oil workers on Sunday, Rodríguez declared an end to Washington’s influence over Caracas.

“No more orders from Washington. Venezuelan politics will be determined by Venezuelans,” Rodríguez stated during her address in the eastern Anzoátegui province. Her remarks come at a volatile time, following the recent US-led operation that resulted in the detention of former President Nicolás Maduro, an event that has strained relations to a breaking point.

Rodríguez emphasized that the country would navigate its current crisis through national unity and internal dialogue rather than external pressure. Analysts view her rhetoric as a strategic move to consolidate domestic power while asserting sovereignty on the international stage.
