Desk Report: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has withdrawn from attending the Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal’s rally scheduled for Saturday, December 21, citing health concerns.
Speaking at a press conference held at the BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir confirmed the cancellation. “Madam Khaleda Zia has been feeling unwell since the night before last. Following the advice of her medical team, she will not be participating in the rally,” Fakhrul stated.
The event, where Khaleda was set to appear as the chief guest, was expected to mark her return to active political engagements after a seven-year hiatus. Her absence comes as a disappointment to party supporters who were looking forward to her presence at the program.
Party leaders emphasized that Khaleda’s health remains a priority, and further updates on her condition will be provided as needed. The rally will proceed with senior BNP leaders addressing the attendees.
