Trump demands immediate ceasefire as Israel-Iran conflict ignites

Date:

TBM Report

In a dramatic collapse of the fragile April ceasefire, Israel and Iran have engaged in a direct, high-intensity exchange of ballistic missiles and drone strikes across multiple regional fronts. The sudden escalation prompted US President Donald Trump to issue an emergency directive on his Truth Social platform, demanding that both nation-states “immediately stop shooting.” The geopolitical eruption occurs at a critical juncture, threatening to completely derail ongoing indirect peace negotiations between Washington and Tehran, with Trump asserting to international media that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “does not call the shots” regarding global peace frameworks.

The current hostilities escalated rapidly following targeted Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah’s command apparatus in the southern suburbs of Beirut. In a swift retaliatory response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched salvos of air-launched ballistic missiles targeting Israel’s Haifa petrochemical facility, alongside the strategic Nevatim and Tel Nof airbases. IRGC military spokesperson Ibrahim Zolfagari warned on state television that any further expansion of Israeli aggression into southern Lebanon or sovereign Iranian territory would be met with “crushing and regrettable blows” against Tel Aviv and its Western coalition partners.

Simultaneously, the conflict has widened into a multi-theater engagement as Yemen’s Houthi rebels confirmed synchronized drone and missile strikes targeting “sensitive installations” in the occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv) region. Houthi military command announced a total maritime blockade on all Israel-affiliated shipping lanes across the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, vowing sustained combat operations in solidarity with the “Axis of Resistance” networks in Palestine, Lebanon, and Iraq.

In response to the incoming threat matrix, Prime Minister Netanyahu has convened a restricted-quorum security cabinet session to map out an extended military campaign, which Israeli Army Radio notes could endure for several days. Concurrently, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have commenced a large-scale mobilization of reserve battalions to secure the volatile West Bank-Jordan frontier. Citing imminent security hazards, the US Department of State has ordered the temporary closure of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, instructing all diplomatic staff and American citizens to enter fortified tactical bunkers immediately.
