The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has confirmed the tragic death of two Bangladeshi nationals and injuries to seven others as the military conflict between Iran and the US-Israel coalition intensifies. In a formal press release issued on Monday (March 2, 2026), the government expressed deep concern over the escalating violence, emphasizing the safety of over six million expatriates as its top priority.
The victims have been identified as Mohammad Tareq, an expatriate in Bahrain originally from Sandwip, Chattogram, and Saleh Ahmed from Barlekha, Sylhet, who resided in Ajman, UAE. Ahmed reportedly lost his life when hit by falling missile debris. Meanwhile, four Bangladeshis in Kuwait—Aminul Islam, Rabiul Islam, Masudur Rahman, and Dulal Mia—were injured in a separate drone strike. They are currently reported to be in stable condition at local hospitals.
The MoFA has directed Bangladeshi embassies in the region to remain on high alert and maintain constant communication with the community. “We urge our citizens abroad to stay vigilant and strictly follow the safety protocols issued by local authorities,” the ministry stated. The news has sent shockwaves through the expatriate community and their families back home, as the government continues to monitor the situation for the repatriation of the deceased.
