Netanyahu proposes new ‘Hexagon’ alliance with India against muslim countries

Date:

TBM Report

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has unveiled a strategic plan to form a new multinational alliance, naming Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a pivotal partner. Dubbed as the ‘Hexagon’ alliance, the proposed structure aims to unite nations that share a common vision for regional stability and a firm stance against what Netanyahu described as “radical axes”—referring to emerging extremist elements in the Middle East and beyond.

The announcement came ahead of PM Modi’s scheduled visit to Israel, where Netanyahu emphasized that India remains a crucial part of the nations that “share the same perspective” as Israel. Netanyahu, who currently faces an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged war crimes, indicated that the alliance would also include key partners from Greece, Cyprus, and parts of Africa and Asia. The Israeli leader framed this move as a necessary counter-balance to the influence of radical groups, though he notably avoided naming all participating nations.

Reacting to the developments, Prime Minister Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting that India deeply values its long-standing friendship with Israel, founded on mutual trust, innovation, and a commitment to peace. This proposed alliance comes at a delicate time when Israel’s relations with major Sunni nations like Turkey and Saudi Arabia have deteriorated following the bloodshed in Gaza. Analysts suggest that while Netanyahu seeks to bolster Israel’s regional security through such partnerships, the overtly religious framing of the “radical axes” could complicate New Delhi’s balanced diplomacy in the Middle East.
