Desk Report: The Bangladesh High Court has directed the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to immediately remove all images of an eight-year-old child who was raped in Magura on March 6 from social media platforms.
The directive came after the High Court bench, consisting of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury, took suo-motu notice of the issue. The court acted on reports presented by Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Mahsib Hossain, who submitted newspaper articles related to the case.
Barrister Hossain also urged the High Court to instruct the government to take necessary steps to protect the child’s health.
