Four accidents were occurred on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj district on Sunday morning. Ten vehicles were collided by these accidents. One was killed while at least fifteen were injured. These accidents occurred between 8 am to 8:30 am.
Fire Service official say that the accidents occurred due to poor visibility for the sudden dense fog. He also commented that the death toll in this accidents might increase.
The deceased was identified as Md. Farhad Hossain (40) the driver of a bus that met with the accident.
According to local, there was heavy fog on the expressway since morning. Nothing could be seen even in the little distance.
On the expressway, about four kilometers from Sholaghar to Hasara, Mawa headed several vehicles hit each other from behind.
On information Srinagar Fire Service rushed to the spot to rescue the people. The Fire Service official Dewan Azad said, accidents occurred at least four places, 10 vehicles including Sakura Transport, passenger buses, trucks, private cars, pickup vans and covered vans. Some hit the road divider. Some hit the back of another vehicle. All the incidents occurred due to dense fog.
Fahad Hossain died at the hospital according to the information of the Srinagar Upazila health complex.
