Sheik Moinuddin Appointed Special Assistant for Road Ministry

The government has appointed Sheik Moinuddin as the special assistant to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus for the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, according to a Cabinet Division notification issued today. Moinuddin, a US expatriate with extensive experience in public infrastructure, will hold executive authority over the Ministry.

Currently serving as the Chief of Safety and Operations at the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Moinuddin will step down from his role before taking on his new responsibilities. Prior to this, he worked as a project manager at Caltrans’ Programme and Project Management Division from 2016.

With over 25 years of experience in leading multi-billion-dollar public sector infrastructure projects in Los Angeles, Moinuddin is well-regarded in his field. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, a Master’s in Civil Engineering from California State University, and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.

In addition to his professional role, Moinuddin is also the President (Central) of the American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers and Architects (AABEA).
