Jamaat-e-Islami Delegation Meets Chief Election Commissioner After a Decade

Desk report:A six-member delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is holding a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, marking the first such meeting in a decade, amid the party’s ongoing reform efforts and preparations for upcoming elections.

The meeting, led by the party’s Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar, began at 10 AM on Thursday at the Election Commission headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka.

Other attendees include Election Commissioners Md Anwarul Islam Sarkar, Abdur Rahmanel Masud, Tahmida Ahmed, Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, and EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed.

Before the meeting, Porwar told the media, “We are here to discuss our views with the Chief Election Commissioner and other officials. We will share further details with the media afterward.”

Currently, the court is hearing the case regarding the restoration of Jamaat’s registration.
