The new online news portal, Barishal Mail, celebrated its grand launch with an inaugural ceremony held at a hotel in Barisal on Saturday evening. The event was attended by prominent journalists, educators, civil society leaders, and other distinguished guests.
Barishal Mail enters the media landscape with the tagline, “Fearless Journalism, Fair News,” and will publish in both Bangla and English, making it the first online news platform in Barisal to offer bilingual content.
In his address, Editor Abu Saleh Akon emphasized Barishal Mail’s mission to earn readers’ trust and loyalty. He shared that the portal’s dedicated team of young, dynamic journalists will prioritize fair reporting, adhering strictly to ethical standards and rejecting content that may serve any individual or party’s illegal interests.
Publisher Monirul Islam underscored the importance of an independent and credible news platform, essential for societal development and national progress.
Distinguished guests, including freedom fighter Noor Alam Farid, Acting President of the Barisal Press Club Kazi Abdullah Al Mamun, educator Professor Mohsinul Islam Habul, Jhalkathi Press Club General Secretary Akkas Sikdar, former President of Barishal Reporters Unity Sushant Ghosh, and senior reporter Jamil Khan, shared words of support and encouragement for Barishal Mail.
Each speaker extended their heartfelt wishes for the portal’s future success, recognizing Barishal Mail as a significant new voice in the local media.
