Army detains six with weapons and drugs in massive Mohammadpur raids

In a coordinated overnight operation, the Bangladesh Army’s 46 Independent Infantry Brigade and Bashila Army Camp detained six individuals and seized a significant cache of drugs, weapons, and surveillance equipment from Mohammadpur. The raids took place at Sunibir Housing and Geneva Camp between Wednesday midnight and Thursday dawn.

The operation first targeted Sunibir Housing based on intelligence reports of a drug-trafficking meeting. Six suspects, aged 27 to 38, were apprehended with Yaba pills, 39 SIM cards, and sharp weapons. Later, during a secondary raid at Geneva Camp, traffickers disabled the power supply to flee across rooftops. However, the army recovered 10,000 Yaba pills, 600g of cannabis, 230 sachets of heroin, foreign liquor, 215,000 BDT in cash, and five CCTV cameras. Lieutenant Colonel Nazim Ahmed confirmed that legal proceedings are underway to transfer the detainees to Mohammadpur and Adabor police stations.
