A unique gesture: Rajshahi University admission seekers welcomed with traditional treats at Barishal University center

In a heartwarming display of hospitality, admission seekers and their guardians at the Barishal University center for Rajshahi University’s 2025-26 entrance exams were treated to traditional ‘Batasa’ and ‘Muri’ (sugar drops and puffed rice). The initiative, organized by the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RACSU) in memory of martyr Osman Hadi, aimed to ease the exhaustion of candidates and create a festive atmosphere on campus.

Volunteers from the Bangladesh Young Column Writers’ Forum (Barishal University Branch) assisted in managing the booth, which provided free pens, drinking water, and a secure luggage desk for candidates to store mobile phones and valuables. Organizers noted that the gesture was widely appreciated by guardians, many of whom traveled long distances. The initiative marked the beginning of the ‘A’ unit exams, catering to 2,400 candidates in multiple shifts.
