Returning to his home district after nearly two decades, BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman addressed a pivotal meeting on Saturday with leaders of the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency. Speaking at Hotel Naz Garden, Tarique labeled Bogura as the core bastion of the party and formally entrusted local leadership with the responsibility of safeguarding the district and its people ahead of the general election.
“Bogura is the fortress of BNP. I entrust this stronghold to you; take care of it and look after its people,” he stated. Despite the perception of Bogura being a safe seat for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol, Tarique cautioned activists against complacency, urging them to reach every voter. He emphasized that since he would be campaigning nationwide, the responsibility for his own electoral battle in Bogura-6 lies entirely with the local workers. He also pledged that a future BNP government would ensure merit-based employment and fulfill the long-standing demands of the district.
