A 60-year-old security guard was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants at Haq Dockyard in the Kautail area of South Keraniganj early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Ahmed Dewan, a resident of the South Pangaon area in South Keraniganj. He had been serving as a security guard at the dockyard for the past 25 years.

The incident took place around 5:30 am. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition, where doctors pronounced him dead at approximately 9:30 am.

The victim’s daughter, Rekha Akter, said her father left home around 5:00 am for his 6:00 am shift. Shortly after, the family received news that he had been stabbed by unknown assailants at the dockyard.
