Since the political upheaval in July-August 2024, which led to the fall of the Awami League (AL) government, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has successfully seized assets totaling approximately Tk 10,476 crore. These assets, belonging to AL leaders, activists, and businessmen benefiting from the party, were frozen both domestically and abroad through court orders.
The figures were disclosed in a recent report from the ACC’s Asset Management Division. According to the report, between August 5, 2024, and February 20, 2025, assets worth Tk 10,310 crore 26 lakh 17 thousand 771 were seized within Bangladesh, while Tk 165 crore 61 lakh 65 thousand 497 were seized from foreign locations.
In total, assets amounting to Tk 10,475 crore 87 lakh 83 thousand 268 have been confiscated as part of the ongoing investigations.
